BlurID is designed with privacy as a core principle. This application allows users to create and share obfuscated copies of identity documents while keeping all personal data under the user’s control.
Information We Collect
BlurID does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers.
All images captured or processed within the app remain on the user’s device. The app does not have any backend servers and does not upload any data to the internet.
How Your Data Is Used
Images taken within the app are used solely for the purpose of:
-
- Editing (such as converting to black and white or blurring sensitive information)
-
- Combining document sides into a single image
-
- Saving the final obfuscated version locally on the device
The original, unedited images are not permanently stored. Only the final edited image is saved on the device.
Data Storage
All data is stored locally on the user’s device using app-private storage where applicable. BlurID does not access, collect, or store data outside of what is necessary for its core functionality.
Temporary files may be created during processing, but they are deleted immediately after the final image is generated.
Data Sharing
BlurID does not share any data with third parties.
If the user chooses to share an image, this action is performed explicitly by the user through the Android system share menu. Once shared, the data is handled by the selected third-party application, and their privacy policies will apply.
BlurID has no control over how other apps use shared data.
Permissions
BlurID may request access to:
-
- Camera: to capture images of identity documents
-
- Storage (if applicable): to save and access edited images
These permissions are used only for the core functionality of the app and are never used to collect or transmit data externally.
Security
Because all processing happens locally on the device and no data is transmitted externally, the risk of data exposure is minimized. However, users are responsible for securing their own devices.
Children’s Privacy
BlurID does not knowingly collect personal data from children. Since no data is collected or transmitted, the app is safe for general audiences.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
